Is This Scripture-Story a Foreshadowing of the 'Breeding' in Today's Flock?

We see how Jacob grew his 'flock of the off-white animals,' and I'm moved to draw a comparison between Laban's-vs.-Jacob's-flock and Sin's-vs.-God's-Flock.

Laban gave Jacob permission to take the 'animals that weren't pure-white (the speckled, the ring-straked, the spotted, the brown), and Jacob made sure the animals (the strong ones, not the weak) met around striped-poles when they mated; today most of the people I know meet their mates at their occupation (in Sin's world, like at Laban's ranch), and ...
