same career; same job
« on: January 04, 2014, 06:23:50 am »
I know a lady whose husband was a teacher. She said she was a teacher too.

Then, later in conversation with another neighbor, I found out that she and her husband both were letter carriers.
My sister and her husband are both teachers.

That would be a little different for me.  All the people I've dated have been in completely different fields. My line of work is very specialized, so I would be hard pressed to date someone of the same field and I'm not dating a co-worker for many reasons.

I think its great when people become teachers but I don't think being a teacher would be a great career for myself. I have an easy time picking things up, but I have a hard time explaining to other house to do something.

It feels like there's competition when marrying someone in the same career. At least that's what I think, but then again maybe not for some.

It is tough but as long as you two are in different roles within the firm or different groups, then it makes it okay, and typically its nice to be able to talk to someone who understands what you're actually doing haha

Interesting. No one in my family has chosen the same career path as me.

My parents both met at their job, so that makes sense why they both have the same career.  I think a lot of it is that before we started using the internet to meet, people meet by proximity.  You are around a lot of people with the same career as you so it makes sense to look towards them for a spouse.

I told to some of my family members that I was going to pick a Business management career now some of them are picking it as their own careers =P I really don't know why some people would pick the same career as a family member.
