The Scripture that Started to Unravel My Christian Belief

Although the 'acid' that ate away at the beliefs might be OUTSIDE-OF-SCRIPTURE thoughts (like those behind Michael Crichton's SPHERE, a reading of which I heard featuring Ed Asner ... '"God," said the SPHERE, "is a word"'  ), I can point to Jesus' own words (given to His disciples in secret) as a 'weakness in the wrapping-paper.'

He was 'in secret' with His disciples, so He could've said 'the Son of God'; but He didn't! And--if He was 'predicting His fate' (as most 'versions' say He was)--why do they all say "he will be raised?" Can't He do it by Himself if He's God-Incarnate?

Why am I doing this: to tear the old religion apart in order to start a new
 one? Not exactly. I'm doing it more to downplay the ancient past in favor
 of the Living God among us now ...  just like Jesus would like for me
 to do, I hope.

I want to bring more focus to the 'disconnection from our "past history" (i.e.
the "treasures that make man too bulky to get through Heaven's gate")' that
Christ's death-&-resurrection gives us the power to make!
