Bought some new books!

Mostly this is exciting because I almost always buy my books used, and almost never buy them unless I know I'll re-read them--otherwise I just get stuff from the library all the time. Also I don't really have enough money to buy all the books I want. I've been getting a lot from Paperbackswap, which is mostly free, and I've been building up my collection of The Dresden Files that way and being introduced to some awesome authors (most recently, Joan Vinge), but new books? Not so much.

Well, I also have $60 in gift certificates built up at Amazon. So yesterday I spent like thirty bucks on Gail Carriger's Soulless, a new Victorian London steampunky book with vampires and werewolves; Sarah Rees Brennan's The Demon's Lexicon, which I finally decided to buy after falling in love with her blog; and Emma Bull's War for the Oaks, because I heart it and wanted to own it, and getting Amazon's super-saver shipping off three new books was cheaper than two new books and one used one. :p

It feels good doesn't it? I love books and am building my collection when I can. If you want used books some time, there is a site called better world books that is pretty good. They often have free shipping, and they have just about any book you can think of. I recently bought Lord of the Rings and Where the Red Fern Grows for my son. I waiting for our library to get the new Dan Brown book for myself.
