Finding phone numbers online

Since phone books are being phased out, how can we easily find phone numbers online? I don't have a problem with local businesses, but I can't seem to find individual numbers there. I go to whitepages.com, but they don't give phone numbers, unless you follow the links to other sites that make you pay for them. I WILL NOT PAY for a phone number that I could get free from the phone book! Am I overlooking something? Is there another site to go to? If I'm trying to look up a neighbor to call and tell them their cows got out, I don't want to spend an hour trying to find a phone number online!

You won't find an individual's phone number online if they're number is not a "published" number.  In other words, if it's not found in a phone book, you won't find it online, either.

hmmm usually white pages or zabasearch work good for me .

Whitepages works as long as the number is listed. I just tried my grandmother.... the only person I know who's # is still listed.... thats being phased out too apparently... times are changing

i have used 411.com but if it is not listed it won't show it..i have used this one for business and people

Look up whitepages in google chrome (online phone book pretty much) and you will be able to find any phone number thats listed

Yes!  Phone books are obsolete nowadays.  It's practically impossible to find anyone's number since most people don't have home phones.

Even phone numbers that are in the phone books aren't on whitepages.com. That website is completely useless. I was hoping there was a better alternative. I guess I can try 411.com. Sometimes technology can't replace the older stuff!
