It is important to be careful.  I research the elite and legitimate ptc sites on ptc investigation.com.  I have a handful of sites I visit every day and they're all legitimate because I have no desire to waste my time.  A big red flag to consider is if you feel pushed to pay an upgrade fee.  I never, never, never pay to upgrade because then there's the potential for wasting time and money.
