Magnesium helps keep bones strong as we age.
It's never too late to add it to your daily routine.

I already take magnesium myself and I also give it to my old cushings diseased horse. It makes a big difference for the horse as it prevents her from colicing.

Magnesium is also great for constipation.  One 400mg gelcap a day and it's SMOOTH SAILIN'!

Magnesium assists with many functions of the body, including being somewhat of a muscle relaxant.  Most likely those who suffer from tension related headaches could benefit from this aspect of magnesium.

If you do take magnesium supplements, look for ones that are combined with a good calcium.  Some calcium is needed for proper absorption of magnesium.

I started taking magnesium supplements when I had chronic muscle spasms from my athletic workouts.  Turned out my activity level required higher magnesium intake to allow proper muscle recovery.  I didn't even need a full dose, but was enough for those spasms to go away so I could keep up my workouts.

The type of magnesium you take is also important, though.  Not all magnesium supplements are created equal.  Magnesium oxide, for example, is poorly absorbed by the body and can be very irritating to the digestive tract.  It is the most common magnesium found in supplements. The ones which tend to be more bio-available to the body are in the forms of magnesium citrate, chelate, or glycinate.

Magnesium is a great muscle relaxant and for the same reason helps with asthma and wheezing attacks. I used to give magnesium supplement to my kid and it helped a lot with her breathing.
