I don't recall ever having to pay for a survey in the daily survey section, so if you are being asked to pay for something to complete a survey, I suspect it is not a regular survey, but something else.

If you are reading the fine print of some offers that are touting an offer as a survey, then, yes, you have to meet the advertiser's rules to complete the offer and get the credit.

You don't have to pay to do any surveys. There are paid offers on the site but you don't have to do them

You have to make sure you do enough to cash out at least every 6 months or you lose your earnings

I have never committed to anything, but I also don't join anything for a free trial or anything like that either.  afraid I would forget to cancel it.

I wouldn't complete any surveys where you had to purchase something. Usually if they want you to try something out they will send it to you for free.
