Acupuncture and health issues
« on: April 25, 2013, 09:26:11 am »
Has anyone used acupuncture to recover from sciatic nerve pain or other illnesses like an knee injury? I use to wear high heels for work and it's taking a lot to recover please let me know what everyone tried or have done it and recovered from it. I'm going to see an orthopedic sports medicine specialist to get to the bottom of it. Thank you for reviewing. Would love some insight on this. :)

I tried it for migraines and found no relief. I'm not sure I had the best acupuncturist however and might consider trying it again with someone else.  I know someone who swears by it for relief of her fibromyalgia. I would try to find reviews for who ever you plan on seeing. Good luck.

My husband tried acupuncture for his sciatic its just a temporary  relief for a 6 months and now sciatic is still hurting. Acupuncture session is expensive but it can help in some ways.

auntie had it done on her back for years and it help relieve a lot of  her pain. She was so slumped over that she could barely do anything. But she swore by it. Me i do not like needles.

I am a big-time needle-phobic.  I have heard of people using acupuncture to cure themselves of certain kinds of aches and pains, but you couldn't get me to try it. :o :o :o

My son is suffering badly with anxiety.  I jokingly told him the other day that we are going to try acupuncture.  Of course he laughed cause he has a fear of needles, too.  If I was in pain and nothing the doctors said to do was working I would try it as long as I could afford it.  I know that some insurance companies were starting to cover alternative medicine.  That is- if you were lucky enough to have insurance.  Since I haven't been able to get coverage in quite some time, I don't know if they have stepped away from doing that these days or not.
