overuse of antibiotics
« on: April 09, 2013, 04:56:07 am »
Some people tend to ask their doctor for antibiotics for colds or soar throats when other remedies work just as well.
It's a shame.
The antibiotics take AWAY good bacteria [which the body needs] ALONG WITH THE BAD.
Antibiotics - "against the body"
probiotics - " for the body"

I have always felt the same way. Maybe why my son and I have not had a cold in 3 yrs. When we did get colds I did not always go to doctor I would have home remedies my dad taught me. A ear infection is different you may need to see a doctor about that because it can also mean other things might be wrong.

My 22 year old daughter is at Drill this weekend for the Army National Guard.

They sent to the doctor because of her coughing, *bleep* nose, running nose, crusting eyes.....

Result:  Viral Infection. They gave her some eye drops and cough syrup with codeine.  She just has to wait it out.

She is miserable.

I never put my kids on antibiotics unless it was absolutely necessary.  I wanted them to develop their own immune system.   A lot of their friends seemed to be on antibiotics all the time.  Now that they are all grown, my kids are rarely sick - but a lot of their friends seem to be sick all the time.

I agree completely!!!!  The better way is always the "natural" way!!!!!  As I have always said any pill the doctor prescribes is "poison" to the body.  While it may seem to help whatever it is that ails a person, it definitely damages something else!!!!  Which only goes to prove medicine is just a "mask" not a "cure"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always try home remedies first. And most of the time those works. But if I'm really bad then I'll go to the doctor.

I agree that antibiotics are way overused but not as much as they used to be.  An ear infection does need to be seen by a doctor as unchecked it can cause partial or total deafness.
