Taking the Gospel to the Maritime Frontier

Far removed from the east coast of India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are home to some of the most isolated people groups on the planet. With support from Christian Aid Mission, a local ministry is making in-roads deep within this tropical paradise. Some tribes inhabiting the islands have never had any contact whatsoever with the rest of the world or heard about Jesus Christ.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands : A Profile

Sometimes referred to as the A&N Islands, the Andamans and Nicobars are located in the Indian Ocean in the lower end of the Bay of Bengal. The 437-mile-long archipelago is comprised of 572 islands, the majority of which are in the Andaman group. The smaller Nicobars to the south include 22 islands. Only 38 of the A&N Islands are permanently inhabited.

The Kamberi People of Nigeria 

The Kamberi people of Nigeria, a semi-nomadic and mostly illiterate tribe of approximately 200,000, practice a mixture of Islam and idol worship. Their original hostility toward Christianity changed in 2008, however, when Christian Aid-assisted Missionary Crusaders Ministries offered to provide free education to their children and drill wells in their communities. Today, many Kamberi have rejected their idols to follow Christ, and several village chiefs are asking MCM to teach their children.
