How do you get phone numbers from Google I'll he had to go to the Yellow Pages. But I can never find what I want why go there anyway is very frustrating to me. I don't like: 411 is they charge so much for it. Then you got free one 800 free 411 but you listen to all of their commercials. And a lot of times they give you the wrong number after you wait through all the commercials and sometimes they give you the wrong number after way through all the commercials that you have on that free 411 number.

Google voice is connected to a dedicated mobile number, but using the service can still affect your minutes. I use this if I don't want to give out my dedicated number, but still want messages/calls routed to my direct mobile phone.

I no longer have a cell or land line, although I plan to get a pre-paid AT&T cell phone soon for travel emergencies. I do not need to but I have two Gmail email accounts. I make all out going calls on one account and use one for all incoming calls directly to the computer. The system has been programed by me not receive calls at certain times.

Google Voice requires is a redirect service.  If you don't have another number to redirect to, you can't get a Google number because they give you a code that you must input when your actual phone rings to verify that it's yours.  Why would you need a Google number if you have another number?  I use mine to ring both my cell phone and my regular phone so I'm always available.  It also allows you to set specific times to go directly to voice mail and lets you block numbers you don't want to call you.  If you have a gmail account, click More on the menu and look for Voice.  Another benefit is free phone calls in the US.

When I call out on my Goggle voice a number in CA comes up.A friend tried calling it back six times, lol! Had to give him my Google voice number. But the whole event was worth it, since it made him go crazy.  ;D
