looking for a long lost friend.
« on: April 23, 2009, 01:41:09 pm »
Have you been in search of along lost friend and wondering what might of became of that person? Or if that person has any fond thoughts of you. Do you think I may one day just run into them. If you were thinking like that then you are not alone most people feel the same way but what's funny is how do you know you haven't crossed paths already and just don't recognize that person see people change as they get older some cut of hair as some grow it some may have even gained weight or lost it. I recently reconected with a few high school friends and most of us look absolutely the same while some of us don't look nothing like we did as young adults there were a few wow's that went on but basically you probadly never really knew that person to begin with while others hold on to fantasy.

 This happened to me !!!! My very best friend since we were 11, [ i am 53 now]. We grew up together, and her parents took care of me, because my mom was an abusive alcoholic.. Well, she joined the army, and I lost touch with her when we were 18... This past year, I FOUND HER!!! she is living only 85 miles away from me, and has a great husband and 5 kids. I see her about every other month, and we giggle again, like it was 1967 again!! She spent years and years in Nome Alaska, and moved back to Ca. I moved from where we were raised, in Woodland, Ca, to Merced, Ca. We were soo lucky to find each othjer again. I thank God, for this gift, because I lost my entire family, and I was all alone. She lives on 22 acres in the mountains, and wants me to live there.. I am seriosly thinking about it.

yes! i last saw this guy in 1995 when we were in the navy together. i had always had a crush on him but, he was just getting divorced and i was dating someone. 2001-i used the military locator service to send a short note: told him how i felt and that i just need to unload that. They found him and we started talking.  and i  would have been fine if he had said "sorry, not interested"  it was just one of those things that would have kept eating at me until finding out for sure...anyway, we are together today and have 2 kids together.
as i have posted earlier - fate should bring two people together. when you go looking for love, it's not the same. are we happy today? no.

Never anything like that, however I'd had a friend in school that I hadn't seen in years and had no idea what had ever happened to him. I had moved my junior year and though we'd intended to keep in touch we never did. I had moved 1500 miles away. Then my girlfriend at the time talked me into taking a road trip. We had stopped at a small dinner along the interstate and about halfway through dinner I noticed someone walk in and I could not believe how much this guy resembled my friend from school. I stared for quite awhile and I just had to know, so I went over to the guy and introduced myself and sure enough it was my long lost friend. He had joined the Airforce right out of high school and for the last ten years was stationed on a base only 150 miles from where I was now living which was 1500 miles fro where we both grew up. He was actually shipping out to go back home that week. It sort of ruined the road trip for my girlfriend but we ended up hanging out the rest of that weekend, but I couldn't waste a chance encounter like that. We talked for hours about our families and I met the girl he would be marrying soon. All in all it was a good weekend we have since lost touch again, but it was a really cool incident and I won't forget it.

That IS so amazing! That's how fate works...not always for love but, just people in our lives in general.

Sometimes attending class reunions can help you keep in touch.

A true old friend is someone you may not see for 20 years, but when you do get together it's like it was yesterday.   :fish:

Don't leave it to fate to bring you two together.

Grab destiny by your own hands by going to peoplefinder.com and find anything about them.

I have recently been looking for someone too.. It is hard to find people. I knew this guy who was my ex's best friend. When my ex & I got together, we lost touch with him after a year & it was because he had a crush on me too. I should have picked him, but he didn't tell me until I was already living with his best friend.  I really wish I could find him now, I haven't had any luck with anything on the internet. He may have gone in the Army. Is there any way to find him if he did???

I've actually been looking for a friend of mine for a long time! I haven't been able to get her off my mind hardly at all for several months. We were friends through middle and high school and then she moved away. We stayed in touch for a long time until she got put in foster care and we haven't been able to touch base for awhile. She was such a good friend and I just feel like I'm capable of being such a better friend than she was and she deserves that since she was a really good and caring person.

I've come into contact with a few old friends through social networking sites like facebook and myspace. It is a wonderful thing to see how people have changed and how they haven't.
