I think you did a very good job of doing something fun with your sister. The pajama party and sparkling cider sounds awesome.
I wish I had seen your post before Thanksgiving. I work in a group home with men with mental and physical challenges. For Thanksgiving, we made "Turkey Favors" which are little crafty turkeys you set by each person's dinner plate. I found a picture on the net of similar "turkeys" to give you an idea.
You take a Ritz cracker and frost it with some chocolate frosting. (The frosting is the"glue" to hold on your other pieces of your "turkey") Add a chocolate covered cherry to the lower part of the Ritz cracker for the "body". Place candy corn in a fan arc above the chocolate covered cherry for the "tail feathers".
Add a chocolate chip for the "head/beak" to the chocolate covered cherry. Be sure to have the chocolate chip curl facing down.
Add a red hot (cinnamon candy dot) for the turkey's "waddle" -- the flapping thing that hangs off turkey's heads -- under the chocolate chip "head".
You can make the "turkeys" stand up by adding 2 chocolate chip "feet" to the under side of your turykey body.
