Raising grandchildren.
« on: April 23, 2009, 07:26:55 am »
Any other grandparents raising grandchildren - I have had my 10 yr old granddaughter since birth - and I am divorced.  Last year my 88 yr old father also moved in when my mother died.  I'm retired and lost my part time job d/t the economy so every penny helps.

Wow, looks like you've got your hands full.
Good for you though, not everyone is willing to take family in when they could be enjoying their retirement instead    :angel12:

The best way to teach is by example.  I think not only has my granddaughter learned about taking care of family, so have some of her friends, their families and others at her school.  I'm acitve in PTO and other school activities, also outside activities such as 4-H, cheerleading and Girl Scouts. Community support and networking are even more important with the economy down. I'm not a Polyanna nad certainly not perfect, just have beliefs.
