Time Change Stories
« on: November 04, 2012, 02:11:48 pm »
What is one of your favorite time change stories?  Back in the late 90's I was systems manger for a fortune 500 company when all of a sudden the mainframe could not keep the correct time.  We tore through the software, rebooted a couple of times (about 30 minutes per reboot), Called systems support people and got passed around the globe a couple of times without any sucess.  Come to find out our mainframe via the network software was getting it's time from the presidents computer who was on vacation and had not changed the time on his computer.

My hardest time change occurs regularly.  When I travel from the US to Thailand, I lose 12 hours.  So, when I leave the US on one morning, I don't get to Bangkok until around midnight the next night.  It's like skipping a day of vacation time!  Fortunately, I make it up on the say back... (I know, I cheated: I figure you're talking about daylight savings time, but I'm kind of a smart alec(K)...

later than i should have, in order to open it for the day.
there were some unhappy people waiting! the time change
always throws me off, one way or another.
