It differs by state but you get at least 1 credit report free each year, 2 in Ga by contacting the credit reporting companies directly.  If you have good credit and are worried about it - put a credit lock on so that they have to contact you if someone tries to open credit in your name - again from the credit reporting companies directly (a bout $10).  See clarkhoward.com.  No need to pay these companies.
