It's a contrived biased platitude intended to cast insidious aspersions on non-xtians but, ended up making xtians appear as dodging the tough questions with diversional b.s..

The "story" was a contrived xtian bias.  As to knowing everthing and learning nothing; that would apply to the xtian g-d who, according to blind faith, already knows and therefore, is incapable of learning.
