Have you ever had a faith affirming experience?

MANY SKEPTICS SAY THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE RELIGIOUS ARE JUST WEAK PEOPLE  WHO NEED A CRUTCH TO LEAN ON AND THEIR RELIGION IS JUST A FARCE. DO YOU HAVE EVIDENCE IN YOUR LIFE THAT GOD IS REAL?   HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED OR WITNESSED A MIRACLE OR ENCOUNTERED AN ANGEL?  (This thread is meant to be for discussion not debate).


My Own Evidence:

Numerous times throughout my life, I have received money from very unexpected sources as an answer to prayer. The miraculous thing about it was that the amount of money I received would turn out to be the exact amount (to the penny) to cover the need I had prayed about.  Throughout my life, this has also happened in response to prayer for better jobs, a house, a new car, a lost loved one returning home.  Of course I cant say that every situation I have prayed about turned out like I wanted it to.  The answer to some prayers has been "no", but I do know my prayers have all been heard and are still being heard.  Of course my faith is not just based on material gain, That is a very small part of it.  The peace and contentment in my life that faith brings, is the most valuable and most affirming evidence for me.

Personally, I've only had faith unaffirming experiences, mainly in listening to the teachings of various religions. Personally, I don't understand when people say their prayers were answered, it's just sometimes the answer is no. I could just as easily say your prayers weren't answered, but sometimes things work out for the best, and sometimes they don't.

I'm happy for you though that you've had these positive experiences. Personally, given my lack of faith, I'd have to say it sounds like you're just a good person who works hard, does good in the world, and has therefore gotten good back in return, like finding a better job. Whichever one of us is right, I'm sure you deserve all the good things that happen in your life!
