Anyone tried that liquid diet?  I can't remember what it's called, but you drink some kind of shake and it's quite expensive.  I looked at the ingredients and it's practically a protein with some other stuff as well.  I believe some kind of weight burner, flax seed, and I'm not sure what else.  While I've heard it works great, it costs a lot.  You'd be better off buying a low sugar whey protein powder and adding it to low fat soy milk or skim milk and supplementing it with a multi-vitamin.  You would drink three or four of those a day for three days and then after those three days only replace breakfast and two snacks with the shakes.  Lunch and dinner should be a lean meat (chicken breast or fish [I prefer tilapia]) and two non-starch vegetables.  You continue that until two weeks where you can start eating starchy vegetables.

I would suggest buying frozen vegetables.  A bag of frozen green beans will last you several meals.  The same goes for broccoli, corn, green peas, brussel sprouts, etc.  I would also suggest buying and freezing fruit such as various berries and bananas.  I buy a lot of reduced for quick sale fruit and put them in bags in the freezer.  Frozen strawberries and bananas taste great and they're great in shakes.  I'd also suggest buying and freezing reduced for quick sale meats.  You don't want a lot of beef or pork.  I'm not a huge fan of ground turkey, so I will buy ground beef and mix a 1:1 ratio.  It's not as dry and bland as turkey, but not as unhealthy as beef.

Well, the best way to start is to eliminate carbs. And I mean, bread, pasta, potatoes and things like that. Stay away from any kind of sugar. Carbs turn into sugar and sugar will make you gain weight. Also cut back on fatty foods. Stay away from beef. Now if you're going to stay away from carbs and sugar, you need to offset all that protein with vegetables. If you do have any carbs, then limit the amount of them. If you normally have 4 slices of toast in the morning, make it one. Do not eat lots of food at one sitting either. Eat small meals and have little healthy snacks in between meals. And do not eat late at night. That is the worst thing you can do. Also, you do need to be active. You should at leas take walks everyday.

Are you able to have a garden and grow some of your own veggies and fruits? Seeds are very inexpensive compared to fruit/veggies and you'd have the added bonus of maintaining it (excercise). Even some containers on a porch or patio could yield some produce.

Also, watch your store fliers and eat the fruit and veggies that are on sale/in season.

Best of luck.

Cut out fat and sugar, and you will definitely lose weight.  You can buy cheap chicken & rice soup at the dollar store.  It has hardly any calories.  Also eat a can of mixed vegetables as a meal.
