Good Morning...?
« on: July 20, 2012, 08:26:31 am »
Good Morning to everyone...but it's not so good here in Colorado. We're waking up to an awlful shooting that happend over night at a theater. It was packed with people going to the midnight premier of the Dark Knight and some psyco comes in gasses the place and starts shooting!. There were babies!, children!, teens! as well as adults in that theater. 12 are dead and 50 injured. I don't understand some people. Why would he do such a horrible thing? My prayers and thought goes out to all victums and their familys.  :'(

I live in Aurora where the massacre happened...just 4 miles from the movie theatre.  I can't believe how crazy this town can get.  For all of the wonderful things this state has to offer (i just moved here 6 months ago and love it), there's also the bad.  I'm hoping everyone will be able to heal quickly, but this has sure shaken everyone up.

How horrible to learn about this.  I had not seen or heard any news this morning, unlike my usual routine.  I know there must have been many, many children in that theater.  My own kids are looking forward to seeing the premier of this movie.  Our lives are not much different from people living in the middle east.  How horribly sad.......

Ummmm....
did you by any chance accidentally post this in the wrong thread? This thread's topic IS "Good Morning...?", but obviously the discussion is about the terrible shooting tragedy that happened last night in Aurora, CO.

I do.  I have what's called Hashimoto's disease.  Are you Hypo or Hyper?  Mine is a type of Hypo, so it's hard to keep weight down and consistent.  It jumps all over the place.  First of all, if you're not, go see an endocrinologist.  they have the best info on this disease (as compared to just a general physician).  Get your blood tested every few months for the first year (or even more frequently if you're on medication and don't feel any different.  you need a higher dose).  Also, take your medication EXACTLY the way you are told.  With mine, I have to take it first thing in the morning with a HUGE glass of water, can't eat for an hour, and can't take any vitamin supplements for 4 hours.

Research foods that are bad for your thyroid ...like anything soy...or broccoli.

other than that, I find that just going for a 30min walk (not a shuffling pace, move that booty!) really helps to keep my weight from bouncing up and down.

I certainly DO realize that....
and we need to let people know when there's something they don't know how to do or where to do it, or they might be confused about, so they can LEARN HOW TO DO IT, instead of just posting/answering back in the same wrong thread, or whatever.

we don't know the motives of the shooter. What scares me the most is that is had a clean record, a good education prior to this event. No where is safe anymore.

I was saddened to read the story on Yahoo. It is so sensless and tragic. What was this thinking. 24 years old and has his whole life in front him. Now he is going to spend the rest of it in prison if he doesn't get the death penalty. The article even said he had a whole arsenal of weapons and explosives in his apartment. I pray for the families of these victims.
