What does Independance day mean to you?

Under the category of children say the darndest things.  We were having a family gathering as my son passed through on his way back to Ft. Hood.  And we adult were passing some time on the back porch when my five year old grandaughter out of the blue came up and asked us "What does Independance day mean to you?"  I look forward to reading your answers.
