Its the most common bleeding disorder, affecting about 1% of all people.  People with VWD take longer to stop bleeding than what is considered normal.

Thank you Patti, the last time I was operated on I needed a blood transfusion and ended up in ICU, kinda scary

I have a friend who has it.  Research it and don't freak out.  My friend does fine she just has to be aware of medications and things that can effect it (or is it affect?).  Take care of yourself.
