Mobile Phone Offers - Charges

Hi All - I am new to this and I have a question regarding the mobile phone offers.  For the ones that require you to enter your mobile number and then "Confirm the Pin"...do you get charged the $9.99 directly to your cell bill as soon as you confirm?? Even if you cancel the subscription right away? I was confused about the charges. If anyone can shed some light on this topic I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I did a cell offer - confirmed the PIN and made sure I was credited and then canceled the service.  So far I haven't been charged anything through them, but I have been getting weird calls on my cell phone.  They are all from numbers like 1241 or 352132 so I know it's not a legitimate phone number, but they aren't texting me. 

It's slightly annoying, but not costing me anything (since I"m not picking up the calls in the first place). Its been going on for a few days, but seems to be slowing down.  I guess I"ll just have to wait and see what happens - might have to report the company or something.

Hey...thanks for the reply! Yeah I have had the same experience....confirmed the pin and then canceled right away.  So far I haven't gotten charged either but I'm nervous for my next phone bill.  Also, I have been getting the strange phonecalls too...I called one of the numbers back and asked the service rep that answered to take me off their list and he did (haven't gotten any calls since!)  Thanks again for your help.

Not completly sure if I am in the right topic.

Just want to know if this was to verify you phone number, while setting up your account?
