How well do you feel you need to know someone to invite them to your wedding?

Unless you have a giant budget, fairly well. I'm getting married in a couple years and I only intend to invite family and close friends (plus spouses/dates for a chunk of them). Old acquaintances and co-workers, as much as I'm fond of them, won't make it on the list for the sheer reason that weddings are really expensive.

Plus, if you can't really anticipate how someone who behave at your wedding, wuld you really want them there? They may turn out to be the crazy drunk or something  :P

We only invited family and close friends and a small list of people each set of parents wanted invited as well. When I look back at my pictures-I am glad that I can put a name and memory with each face there.

though i am single i think it really depends on how many people you can afford to invite without going broke.

Well I look at it as this is going to be your big day and you don't want to invite people that are going to feel uncomfortable at a table. Plus you need to know where to put them if your seriously going to invite them. I stuck to people I hung out with on an everyday basis. I couldn't invite them all cost too much.

Well with the cost of everything going up, I think you need to know them pretty well lol...I think its crazy how many people go to weddings and they barely talk to the couple a few years later.
