Your driving posture?
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:49:30 pm »
How near or how far do you sit close to the steering wheel when you’re driving? When I get behind the wheel of my older female friend/relative’s car, their seat is set too close to the steering wheel it’s like sitting on a small chair w/ both hands hanging onto the wheel.  I often have to adjust the length of the seat and recliner a little further back for comfort. I seriously need room to stretch my legs and arms. It’s not that I’m much taller than they are, but I simply cannot stand sitting so close to the steering wheel in such an unnatural, restricted position.  :confused1:

I feel the same way about my friend's car. But then again she's got an SUV and I drive a sedan, so maybe the sedan being lower to the ground makes me feel more comfortable in a more reclined position. Sort of like cruising in a sports car vs. a "truck" driver...  :dontknow:

I am in physical therapy right now.  One of the problems is my car . The bucket seats they said are the worst for posture. Puts too much strain on the lower back.  The legs need to be 90 degree angle.  So I have to have a roll behind me to push my legs downward.  Fells better but weird at the same time.   :)

I sit really close to the steering wheel. I think it's actually kind of a safty violation because of the airbag, but I have short legs and my feet have trouble reaching the pedals if I don't sit close enough to the wheel.  :sad1:

I don't site close to the steering wheel because its uncomfortable.  I have my seat adjusted that is comfortable enough to brake accelerate.

I set pretty close to the steering wheel, beause the seats are always too big and can't get as close to the pedals as i like. Donot like to drive with my legs stretched out, not enough control. Oh to be another 3" taller.
