Cash Tasks - HUH?
« on: January 28, 2012, 03:57:25 pm »
I do the cash tasks when I have time.  The last couple of times I've clicked on some of them, I get a message stating that I've already done all the tasks I can do for that particular offer -- even when I've never done that particular task before.  What's up with that?

Example:  I recently did the "flag adult content" task.  Went through the ten or so pages of it on two different occasions, and got payment for it.  Next time I tried to do it, it let me go through an entire page of flagging before giving me a message stating that I'd already completed all the tasks I can for that offer -- and I did NOT get paid for that day's work.  If it knew I'd already done this task, and it was no longer available to me, WHY did it allow me to do an entire page worth before telling me so?

I'm mainly curious as to why a task I've NEVER DONE says that I've already completed all I can for that task.  Anyone else having this issue?

In my opinion, work is work.  What difference does it make if I've done the task once, three times, or ten times?  If they need the task done, who cares WHO does it?  I've looked at some posts under the "What offers approved for you today" forum topic, and have seen some people listing dozens of completed tasks for the same offer, so obviously it's not capped for everyone.  Very frustrating!

I've worked these tasks a lot, and not knowing more details of which tasks - here are a couple possibilities...

First, the tasks almost always have a limit as to how many panels one is allowed to do before it "cuts you off".  Example, I like to do the "search for terms" tasks when they appear, and they've been cutting me off around 7 or 8 panels completed.  If you had worked a page before getting the message you worked all the tasks available, you should have been credited for the panel you submitted - if not, then chalk that up to a rare glitch (has happened to me once in a while).  If you had worked a few panels on that same task a different day, then back again later - that would explain why you were able to work more one day vs the other - that you had not reached the limit on your first day of work, but hit the limit on your next day.  The good news is when that round of the task is complete, and it's posted again in a week or so, you should be able to work the task again.

If you try a task and get the "all finished" message from the top - that means either it's still the same version of the task you had worked previously (sometimes tasks may take a couple weeks before they complete), or the if the task available count is low - what might be happening is others are currently working the remaining tasks so it's not letting new people in until those people either complete the tasks successfully or unsuccessfully.  If any are unsuccessful, then the task could open up briefly.  If this was the case, it's a timing issue - just not catching the task as it's available.  I tend to avoid tasks that are getting low as I almost always get the "all finished" message - even though I had not worked it, the task itself has no more work available.

Hopefully what you were observing fits into one of these scenarios and this will help you when choosing future tasks.

I do the same task sometimes (flagging adult content) and this is not rare. It lets you do part of it then says you have completed all you can and doesnt pay - BUT the next time you do it, the part you previously did counts toward your next payout.. EXAMPLE you have to go through 8 pages before getting 4 cents, and you end up going through 4 pages then it stops you and you got nothing.. NEXT time you do it, you will only have to go through 4 pages to get your 4 cents instead of 8, because it keeps track that you had 4 pages in the bank so to speak. Get what Im saying? so its not ripping you off, it just doesnt have any more work for you at that time but it will still count the next time you do work. ALSO ive done that and gotten half of it done before it stoped me, then done a completely different offer for 10 cents and the credit I get shows "12 cents for completing _____ (plus one other offer)" giving me the credit for the offer I just did and the one it owed me for the half of the work I did. So you WILL get paid for what you did, after you do work for it later on or after doing a different daily task.

As for the ones that say youve done all you can when youve NEVER done any work - I have to assume its because theyve met there quota for the day or whatever time period from OTHER people an havent updated the tasks to take it of the list yet - youve done all the work you can because nothing IS all the work you can lol - its no big deal really, just check back later or do a different one. It can be frustrating not being able to do one you want but owell it is what it is.

And some let you do it dozens of times, others only a few, its just the way it is, they have preset quotas for how much each person can do, or how much everyone collectivly can do, or both, within a time frame im sure!

Good info, Kapeh12!  Not sure if the tasks I was trying were getting low.... it's possible, and I admit I didn't pay attention.  The one I was doing ("flagging adult content") let me do several pages before saying I couldn't do anymore (and I got no credit).  Not sure what happened there.  Will just keep trying I guess.

I've worked these tasks a lot, and not knowing more details of which tasks - here are a couple possibilities...

Today I was able to do the "Flag Adult Images" task again, just for the record.  It allowed me to to three of them.  I like this one because it's easy to just look at the photos -- no having to open new browser tabs, type in all kinds of info, sift through all kinds of results, spend half an hour per page for only two cents.  I'd like to see more of these type!      :peace:
