Mostly because of greed and to see what expensive gifts they can con out of relatives or other gullible people.

Because they grew up celebrating christmas.  Very few people think about jesus on christmas anymore.  How should a believer and none believer be thought of differently for that?

Christmas is a scam. I've been working at a department store at the mall for the holidays and it has turned me off to Christmas cause people are not happy at all. They're stressed out and maxed out on credit cards. Spending their time buying gifts for people they don't even care for. Everything is made overseas.
