Have you used dragon Naturally speaking?

I'm doing lots of writing and considering purchasing this software.  Have you ever used it? I'd be using it for writing fiction.

I have never heard of it but it sounds interesting and I would like to hear more about it.  There are many cool programs that are available now-a-days and this sounds like one of them.

lol People asking questions like they've never heard of google. ::)
Can never tell if it's for real or meant as a joke.
(Not directed to original poster, btw)

Anyways, yeah I've never used it, but looks cool, if it can actually pick up your particular dialect.
Don't suppose they have a trial version?

I've used handwriting recognition software, but was disappointed in it. My handwritings too messy.
So I'd just worry that my accent or the way I pronounce words wouldn't pick up right and it'd turn into a waste of time and money.

I personally know I couldn't really use that though, even if it worked perfectly. I have waaaay too many "uhms" and I derail my own "train of thoughts" too much lol. I'd be erasing 95% of the stuff I have it type  :BangHead: :P

If you do wind up buying it, do post a review! The ones on Amazon look very promising!

I've used it a little and it worked pretty well.  I'd suggest trying a demo version before you shell out actual money for it though.

Thanks for the input. I did go and checkout the reviews on amazon and it does seem like it works for a lot of people.  I haven't found any demos but maybe I'll check out the dragon website and see if they do one.

If you don't know what its = its a program that lets you dictate rather then type. I don't know if they have it fvor languages other than english!

I had used this at a friend's house maybe 10 years ago and had fun playing around with the tool, but this wasn't accurate to me to be of practical use (I'm sure they improved since then). I did have fun seeing how the program translated background noises - particularly the howling of our dog Kiwi back then.

I attempted to use dragon speaking years ago, but I think because it was in its infancy, it never worked correctly.  Hopefully they have improved the software and it will work much better now.
