People who smoke around babies!

I think there should be a ban against smoking around babies. I live in the suburban area but a city girl at heart. One thing that  hate I to see people do is smoke around there new babies. I dont smoke cigrarettes but my spouse does and he never does it in the house even when the kids are out. Another thing that really grinds my gears that someone did when my son was really little. I was waiting at he bus stop.This guy walks up and starts smoking by my baby so I moved away. He moves right by me again. I told him and he gets an attitude. Im like man my son is only six months I moved away fom you because of the smoke. He start mumbling under his breath and Im like challenging him with my eyes. He never know my son could have all type of breathing problems.People can be so rude!

  I agree that babies should not have to breathe in second-hand smoke...neither should pets.  I grew up in a household with a smoker and the cat & dog that I had at that time both died of cancer.  (Not one of my many pets has had cancer since.)  I also developed asthma when that smoker was living in that house and cigarette smoke is still one of the triggers to an attack.  My second job permits employees to smoke inside and since it's a small area, the smoke travels everywhere.  I'm constantly having to use an inhaler that I didn't have to use much before taking this second job.  Hopefully I will be up for a promotion soon at my primary job and will be able to quit the second job and get back to breathing non-smoke filled air again!   I've known people that were smokers whose small children reeked of cigarette smoke or their dogs reeked of smoke (even after they had multiple baths trying to remove the smell)...imagine how unhealthy all that is on the inside, to a tiny set of lungs!

me and my financee dont smoke and if you are a smoker and come to my house, then your going outside to smoke and i dont care how cold it is out there.

Smoking around anyone who isn't a smoker is just wrong. But even more so when it is babies and young children who cannot go somewhere else to get away from the smoke. If you want to smoke and take in all those chemicals, etc. that is your decision but do not force that on someone else. I hate the fact that my mother smoked in the house nearly my entire life. It's not fair to people who choose not to smoke, to still have to face diseases that come from being a smoker all because of something like this. Keep babies and children out of smokey environments!!

I agree. I can't tolerate people smoking around me so I know that babies are extremely affected by the smoke. I had a boyfriend that smoke a lot and I dumped him for that reason.

Smoking should not be allowed within 25 feet of any person who disapproves. Why should anyone else have to smell your stinking cigarette?

I agree!
I grew up in a household with smokers (my mom and older brother) and always hated that they smoke around me. I'm from Japan and it's worse in Japan! They can still smoke in majority of restaurants and even visitors smoke in the house without asking. When I first took my baby girl to Japan to see our family I was very nervous.

I don't think people should smoke around babies. It wrongs. They can't stop breathing the smoke or move away from it so they're stuck. They end up having all sorts of health problems because someone didn't stop and think about their actions.

Smoking should be done around any children not just babies.  It is a bad influence for one thing not to mention the health issues.

Second hand smoke is dangerous. I don't think there necessarily needs to be a ban on smoking around children, it already endangers their health. Endangering a Child willfully is already against the law, right? Im sure it falls under assault at that point.

yes i agree with u on that. i dont want to be around smoke period and i'm glad im not with a person who smokes. i cant stand that *bleep* at all.
