I THINK USING THE LORDS NAME LIKE THAT IS VERY WRONG. AS PEOPLE USE IT VERBAL ITS USED IN VAIN NOW PEOPLE USING IT ONLINE AND IN TEXT MESSAGES. FROM FACEBOOK TO MYSPACE TO TWITTER MOST POST HAVE O. M. G. FROM PEOPLE THAT MIGHT NOT EVEN KNOW WHO THE LORD IS.

Don't use it if you are offended by it.  I personally am not offended by it so I will use it if the mood suits me.  I don't care if people use it or not.

I think there are too many abbreviations that people use nowadays.  OMG, LOL, TTYL, TY, WTF.  sometimes I can't even figure out what they mean!

I really don't get how "Gosh" is a better word than "God" when you are really meaning to say the word "God" and replacing it with an incredibly similar sounding word. If I were God I'd probably count "Gosh" as my name...

I would try to say oh my gosh not god but in a text you cannot tell the difference !!!!!!

I think using the phrase OMG is just fine.  For it to be in appropriate would have to have an intention of that.  Why someone would imply or "fill in the blank" with something other than gosh or golly if in doing that it would be inappropriate seems silly.  This is not a serious phrase and in language today is used an an exclamation of surprise - nothing more.
