if u really want a job u can find one theres no excuse.......go flip burgers, go scrub some toilets and if ur to picky about jobs then fine i just hope u like sitting around broke.

Seconded. Its not hard. Most people arent willing to shift their standards.
They usually arent willing to go the extra mile either. Stay a little later, cover for someone else.
Even get their boss coffee on their way in.

It just depends on how hard you want to work to find one. If you take it serious and look everyday you will find one!

Try to hang in there....I have sent out about 1000 resumes this week and I am frustrated too.  I either am "over qualified" or "under qualified".  It's hard out there but I have found that the more sites you post your resume on, the more hits you get.  Hope this helps a little.    :)

A neighbor's daughter is in the motel industry; she told me there is a need to hire people. I live in Florida, but wherever you live, it wouldn't hurt to check it out.

Don't give up. Keepo trying. You may have to settle for something less right now, use that as a stepping stone for something better later.

Finding a job is not easy in this economy. Especially in NYC. Now if your young enough then it should be no problem to get some kind of job. But when you're older like 50 plus with some medical conditions, then it will be much harder. It seems the workforce these companies are looking for are young moldable people. When they see a middle aged man come i for an interview, they cannot come right out and say, we don't want you, they will let you fill out an application and say thank you. Most of the people that are out of work right no are ranging from 50 to 65 years old. When you hit 45 things become harder to do.

After being out of work for almost 10 months, I got a job working 15 hours a week (vs 40 I worked before) making about $12 an hour when I used to make $20. So I used to make $800 pre tax a week. Now I'll be making $180 a week. Yet everything is more expensive. Short of selling an organ, I've sold about everything I own.

Thats the shame of it all. I feel for you squirrelgirl44. Thats what I am talking about. We may be able to find some kind of job, but we have to get rid of everything we have and downsize everything else.

That is the phone number for a Nintendo repair service, which is fine, BUT how will that help anyone who doesn't know squat about repairing them?! Not to mention the company is in California and, contrary to popular belief ;D, there ARE more states that just Cali. Do you want to pay for their plane tickets and relocation costs? :confused1:
