Am I the only mother raising a 16 year old daughter that thinks she is the boss, and doesnt have to listen to me?

The odds are against such a liklihood.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I have a daugther, but she is now thirty-two, but when she was 16 years old she did think she ran things and wanted to do what she wanted to do, but I put my foot down and I also had help from my husband (her father) and we are so proud of her.  You as a single mom must be stuff and strong and be involve in her life.  Is she involved in any thing at school, like cheerleader or sports?  If so,just be involved in any and everything she does.  You can be her best friend and also her mother but you have to set the rules and if you have been doing this all along you won't have any problems, but if you have been letting her rule your house and do whatever she wants to do than it might be too late. :crybaby2:

tell her if she is the base too go to work and pay for all your personal expense and her two then she can be the base!and  you can be the teenager  in joy going and play while she is working.I will give her two weak at the most then she will see how good she has it.

I have a friend that's struggling with the same issues, but what I don't understand is why she keep giving her what she
wants even after she's been disrespectful to her. Why should anyone be good if you get what you want while being bad?

Not pointing any fingers but are parents contributing this behavior?
