cats or dogs. which make the best companions?
I grew up with cats however, now am a dog person.  I have two dogs and would not trade them for anything.  I love them both and cats and dogs are great companions.  Cats are more independent! Of course my dogs are spoiled so they are all for the attention!

cats are easier to take care of. you don't have to take them outside.

I like both cats and dogs, but prefer dogs.  When you come home after a long day, does a cat run to the door with its tail wagging, giving you a big greeting - no, that is a dog.  You feel silly talking to a cat, but not talking to a dog.  For the first two years of her life, my granddaughter's best friend was their dog.

I love them both but don't care for the shedding, so I have a poodle!

They are both great companions.  When you are sick cats are always there worrying over you.  Mine even understands what I say when I talk to her.  Dogs are loyal, protective and full of love and affection.
