I LOVE James Patterson books but I have now found another author that I really love.... and that is Mariah Stewart.  I listen to books on my mp3 player after downloading the books free from my local library.  I have really enjoyed the last 3 books of hers I have "read" and now working on a 4th.  I had to find something else because I have almost exhausted the James Patterson section that is available from 2 different states libraries!!

i've only read a couple of james patterson books, they were decent :) i've been wanting to try out the 'witch and wizard books' for a couple of years now and never seem to get around to it - has anyone read them? are they good? they SOUND like they would be pretty much up my alley..

dean koontz is my favorite author. i love horror/suspense/fiction/sci-fi.
blake crouch is a great horror author, john saul is very good too!
ridley pearson is a good crime-fiction author.

i also love christopher paolini (the inheritance cycle/eragon books.)
and patrick ness (the chaos walking series.)

oh, and rick riordan (the percy jackson books/the kane chronicles/heroes of olympus.)

!

I'll check her out, thanks! You might like David Morrell's books. He writes suspense, and there's a little romance thrown in, too.

Oh, another horror book fan. That's nice to see. John Saul is one of my old favorites. But my all time favorite is Robert Bloch, what a master in the genre he was.

Haruki Murakami.  He's not a new author but I started reading his books over a year ago.

John Saul is one of my more recent favorites - i've read just over 10 of his books at this point. i suppose "black creek crossing" and "black lightning" have been my favorites thus far :)

i recognize the name Robert Bloch, but have never read anything of his. i think i'll just have to hop on google and check him out a bit more now ;p
