I can't tell you the answer to that one, but if a man even put 25% of the effort into his marriage instead of a mistress, everyone be happier.  It has happened to me on both ends and it wasn't a pretty picture to be deceived.

Wow ladies...Srry to hear that! I know that not every man is like that! Well i can only speak for myself. Some men are dog's and would treat others better that i have heard from other men.

I'm not the kind of guy that would cheat on a woman, but I think the the reason you're looking for is that with the wife, he knows her too intimately... He sees her every day and knows so much about her, including the things that annoy him. She is no long the fantasy, but is the reality of his love life. The wife doesn't dress up anymore, because she doesn't need to put on a false cover to what she really looks like; he's already seen her when she first wakes up when she's sick and grumpy and looks her worst. But with the mistress, she can continue his fantasy by dressing up whenever he sees her.

My sister just got married, and they had the guests write out advice for the new couple. One piece that I though was really good was to go out on dates together to keep the spice of their love life active. Just like the man wishes the wife would dress up more, the wife also want the man to be a gentleman too.

Maybe he doesn't see the whole picture of the mistress as he does with his wife. Probably wouldn't treat her better than his wife if he could.

my dad cheated on my mom for awhile a few years back and when the whole thing came out he told my mom straight out that he treated his girlfriend so good because she was appreciative of him. my parents had been married for 24 years at the time and the most my mom ever had to say to him was complaining and nagging, she never wanted to go out with him, didn't dress up for him, and never minded if he was gone because she felt like he never put in any effort with her. from my dad's perspective he felt like she didn't love him anymore, she didn't want him around and didn't appreciate what he tried to do for her. and while i do not agree with his cheating i do understand the reasoning behind it. luckily for them and the rest of the family he ended the affair and began putting that effort and attention into his marriage, so my mom returned the effort and their relationship is going very well, and headed towards their 30th anniversary in a few months

I think it is wrong to have a mistress in the first place.if you aren't happy with your wife, then why would you want get another  one involved when in the end your just going to hurt her.
why a mistress is to see if they still have what it  takes to cheat and or please another.so  so  so wrong.

Because most men enjoy being treated badly and they sometimes find that in a mistress that doesn't care and takes advantage of them (money wise, etc.).  He wants to have his cake and eat it too.   :dontknow:  For that why not just get a divorce.

If men dont feel like they are appreciated for what they do for the family or wife, then they will cheat. Same way with women, except with a man, his testosterone goes into overdrive, which makes it worse......

i think its because the man feels he is getting something over on his wife. He likes doing this behind her back. it makes him feel powerful. He feels in control and could care less about his wife's feelings. He's having a good time and he secretly gets to humiliate his wife.
