Youth in a downspiral....

I bring this topic up because everytime I see a younger individual I wonder why they have been led to think that showing skin and being disrepectful is okay or accepted.

I remember when I was younger or even when my parents were younger you were tought to respect those with age and even more yourself.

I put majority of the blame on the parents and then rest of the 10% on the female population.When I was in high school my mother told me that a boy just wants one thing and when they get it they move on. Beleieve me or not that stuck. I also wanted to see if it was true. I saw girls disrepecting themselves for attention (good or bad) and then being dismissed by the male population. And just like a small populated area word of mouth travels fast.

I have a little girl as well as a little boy. I keep telling her to be a leader and a follower and respect herself first. Both of my children respect their elders and have manners.

Manners always goes a long way. When did manners become a thing of the past?

I think this falls on a lot of people. Parents mostly but society needs to step up too. My big thing is cell phones, OMG. If you're expecting a text or call sure go ahead and look but seriously you came to visit and now all you're doing is playing on your phone. I'm not afraid to tell people, and guess what, they listen!

We have a son and although he's barely 11 months, when we see people we tell him, say hi to Mr and Mrs. 'Doe'. That's how he will address people unless they give him permission to say otherwise. He's going to know how to treat a lady, basically do everything no one ever did for me.
