I believe everything is predestine. God has known for eternity what will happen. I also believe things happen for a reason and if you trust in God for the understanding, great things will happen. I'm living proof of that ~ one recent incident: I had lost the vision in my left eye. After many tests all that could be diagnosed was optic neuritis but the cause of the optic neuritis could be confirmed. While reviewing my MRI, it was discovered I had an aneurysm behind my right eye. It had nothing whatsoever to do with my vision problem, but I believe the Lord brought that into my life in order to save me. Chances were very slim that I would find out about it until it ruptured. Most aneurysm are silent killers. I was born with mine and it grew over the ages according to my doctors. It would have been instant death if it ruptured. Praise God!!!! that I was blessed to be able have a non-invasive brain surgery through the skills of a wonderful doctor, Dr. Paul Blom (a cutey, too). My husband loves to brag to everyone that "his wife is the only one he knows that has had brain surgery through their butt" ~ the procedure was like a heart catherization but went all the way to the brain instead of stopping at the heart. I've had four surgeries to send a camera up (can you believe that???) and put stints and coils in the artery to reinforce the vein.
Oh, well, enough of my blessing, as I said, everything ~ good and bad ~ happen for reasons. Sometimes it is God testing you to see how you handle the situation before He gives you something else. Oh, by the way, I just recently lost my job of 15 years. First time I haven't been employed in 31 years! I know there is a purpose ~ the Lord knew I ready for a good vacation! Had a very stressful job with great pay. Being humbled now....
