What exactly is Assembly Bill 153 and you support it?

1.) What is actually AB 153? Please explain in detail because all I could find on the internet is people stating their opinion without a full description of AB 153.

2.) What would happen to FusionCash if the law passes?

3.) Do you support it?

AB 153 = Out of State Internet Tax

Kfickes is pretty much right on this. California is BROKE, and they can't really suck off of income taxes or current sales taxes much because nobody has jobs or money to buy expensive things. Solution for those people? Buy things ONLINE for cheaper from places like Amazon which are out-of-state! But CA wants to put a sales tax on internet sales from those places just to squeeze out money from more people that don't have it. I read that they already tried this in Colorado, but Amazon cut a lot of programs away from them and it hurt the state even more. So hopefully this won't pass because it's just an obvious way for the gov't to screw people out of more money that they don't have in the first place.

Oh and 2.) = Good question...if you're buying stuff through FC, some businesses may pack up their things because they won't be able to afford giving us the FC deals.

3.) Hell no. It's stupid and it has been proven to not work via Colorado-- if the business feels that this law if unfair, they have every right to leave that area of business; they aren't being forced to stay on board and just accept it. This ends up hurting the business, the consumers, and the states reputation. I don't even know why it's still even on the table.

I believe that if they want people to spend money then they need to stop adding taxes and charges to eveyothing.  If I have 10 to spend that is all I am going to spend.  If the money goes to the product then it helps the company and allows them to pay their taxes.  If some of it goes to the taxes then the company makes less money and it effects the companies budget so they may do less.

There have been attempts to pass this law for the last 7 years and it hasn't gone through yet. I don't feel it ever will because it would be an absolute nightmare considering the fact that each state has different taxation schedules. If you do a search on Quill v North Dakota which occured in 1992, you'll get an idea of where this all started. The government does NOT want to lose the billions in dollars it collects each year from places like Amazon, Overstock, etc., that have huge volumes in sales all over the country and the world.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

It's not all about state's (or California for this matter) wanting to take more money from you.  They want to protect the businesses in their own state.  When Amazon/Overstock/etc. do not charge sales tax, it allows them to sell items cheaper then what is charged in-state.  That takes money and jobs out of the state.

Solution? Lower taxes in those states to create competition. Raising them and trying to set stupid socialistic rules for companies is not the answer.
