stop digging

Does anyone have any ideas how to keep my aussie from digging??    he goes for walks twice a day and plays ball between walks...    He just cant help himself from digging

maybe you could find him a job digging holes. I always hear people saying do what you love and the money will follow. So, perhaps you could find some benifit to the digging. Its something he loves to do

If you have room maybe you can fence in a section the size of a small garden plot and fill it with sand and train it to just dig in that spot that way it won't mess up your yard too much.  When I had a dog she didn't dig but the back yard was bare from her chain rubbing the grass away.

I'd recommend talking to your vet or an animal behaviorist if it's a major problem.  My dogs don't usually dig, but I'm always with them and stop them if they try to, which is rare.
