When I got up this am. my husband on the computer, as usual, shows me the news. I hate it when he does that, just because it's always something bad. Today he shows me a picture of a deer. Yeh, so? Well this deer descides to protect a Canadian goose while she sits on her eggs. Geese mate for life. The mate had been killed. The deer took on the role as protector of this soon to be family of geese. It fought of a barking dog, won't let the press near the goose and it's eggs. Very sweet story to wake up too. I think my husband was on CNN so I am going to see if I can find the story. Have a good day.

my fiance likes to do the same thing
with the news!

he's always up on current
world events (which are mostly depressing)
and always wants to share them with ME,
who'd rather NOT hear about all the suffering...

but i'm glad this time, it wasn't like that for you!

Here's a goose we met last year who's still here with his broken wing. The other geese won't have anything to do with him

Awwww, the wonders of nature. What an amazing story. Some people think animals aren't worth anything and that they are dumb. This proves otherwise.
