Depends on who I'm talking to.  Mostly I prefer to text.

Usually I prefer texting... I know friends that have a different schedule than me will call me to talk while I'm at work, and I have to ignore their call. With texting, they can say what they want and I can reply when I get a chance to check their message. It's esp. nice when the question is just something short, like "You gonna be at the bar after work?"

However, there are times when I do like to talk. If the conversation is going to take a while, then it's easier to talk than text. Like if I'm shopping and need input from a friend, its easier to describe the two items I'm stuck over by talking than to try texting. Or if the conversation is important / personal then it's always better to talk if you can't see them in person. Eg a friend's parent dies and they're on their way to the funeral, it is so much better to tell them how sorry you are for their loss than to just text it. It's just too impersonal to text something that important.

I would rather text than talk.  Since my cell phone plan has unlimited texting it makes it alot cheaper than running up minutes.

Depends on who Im talking to or the subject matter. I would rather TALK  to someone about something when there are different points of view, ya get your point across more.

I do both.  We got texting because our kids are AVID texters!

They will text us at all hours  and about all topics.  Texting has helped us stay in contact much better than just the cell phone.
