Sleeping with contacts in
« on: April 05, 2011, 02:52:59 pm »
Do you sleep with your contacts in? I keep falling asleep with my contacts in...I try not to and try to take them out but sometimes I don't know I am going to fall asleep and stuff.

The eye doctor told me I shouldn't do that and what could happen like get an infection and ulcers on the eyes and my blood vessels could grow into my cornea.

It kind of scares me when I wake up and realize I fell asleep with them in.

I need to make it a point to take them out before I lay down.

If i sleep with mine in i feel like ripping my eyes out the entire next day.  That's motivation enough for me to take them out.

I've fallen asleep with my contacts when I wore contacts. For a while I tried those 30 day and night contacts but they dried my eyes out after a few days. Now I'm just kind of adjusting to only wearing my glasses when I need them and have given up the contacts.

I sometimes take a short nap with my contacts in but I try to never actually sleep in them.  I have accidently forgot to take them out at night and really regret it because my eyes hurt for days and I have to throw the lenses away due to build up and being so dry.

I would fall sleep with them when on trips, but then I try to not wear them for 24 hours after that happens which is rarely.

But I did get some disease call "Giant Pepper Conjuntivitis" from wearing the same contacts and not replacing them every 3 to 6 months like recommended, that was years ago before disposables excisted, then I was told to let go of them for good, then about 3 years later I went to another doctor she recommended that I could go back to them as long as I used the disposable ones and with certain conditions, 1. throw them away every week, 2 never sleep with them on and 3 to use an special lens cleaner.

I love them and I just so a commercial for Daily disposables that could be good, can wait and ask my doctor plus see how $$$ will they cost.

No, I never sleep with my contacts in.  I rarely forget to take them out due to a nightly routine.  If I do sleep with them in, they're usually no good anymore by the time I wake up.

it's very uncomfortable to do it....when you wake up is horrible!! Maybe for a nap it's ok, but not all night long, so remember having always your contacts boxes/liquids with you

this is a very bad habit of mine, I sleep in mine... actually I never take them out, or change them. They are 2 week contacts, and I have been wearing mine for 8 months because I dont have the money to get new contacts or glasses...  :BangHead:
