Definitely cool pieces, whether they are real or not. I immediately picked up on 2 very interesting and very suspicious statements in the article.

The codices turned up five years ago in a remote cave in eastern Jordan
Someone, in this day and age of religious uprisings and conflicts, kept quiet for 5 years about them?!

Then a contradiction of the above and it is now 100 years of being 'under wraps'?

But the codices somehow passed into the ownership of an Israeli Bedouin named Hassam Saeda, who claims that they have been in his family's possession for the past 100 years.

I'm just sayin...... ;) Thanks for putting this up, Amy. Should be an interesting 'show' of comments to watch.

It's very interesting indeed. It will be worth keeping updated about the translation.

I agree though that no one should jump to conclusions about what they mean, the religious community takes a sound beating when discoveries are made and they rush judgment and the spread the word of "proofs" for biblical history.

On the other hand, I believe even when legitimate writings and other things have been found, there is always a group of religious skeptics who make sure and find a way to cast doubt. They are a group that requires 100% proof of religious claims but little to no proof for their natural explanations.

Oh well, it is definitely a wonderful discovery no matter what it reveals.

This. Seen it dozens of times unfortunately. Especially the constant "Noah's Ark found!!!" hoax. Ugh...

Uh oh. Those ancient undated super-rusty credit-card sized plates coded in Hebrew with Jewish symbols created by ancient gullible story tellers are sure gonna take us skeptics down a notch.

And I also noticed the contradiction Jdog brought up. And I imagine, just as with the Dead Sea Scrolls (which I saw at a museum! :D ), anything inconvenient in these texts will be ignored by the failthful while anything that supports current beliefs will be hailed as "evidence" that this religion is right. As is usual- how cheap and convenient. Nonetheless if this is authentic, what an awesome find. Keep me updated.
