No... I failed penmanship in school (that and spelling were the only classes I failed). But considering that I finished high school with a 4.0 and went on to earn 2 Masters Degrees, I don't consider myself to be a failure. Then again I've also been told I have a doctor's handwriting, so maybe it does after all!

I think it can be a tool for helping determine what kind of characteristics you may have. Why else would it be used so widely in the criminal justice field to help find the culprits? There is obviously some truth to it or there wouldn't be a whole study attributed to penmanship. From the little I've seen about my type of writing, it works. I am very analytical, like symmetry, and have other typical left brained attributes which shows in my writing style.

Great topic btw!

WE would be in deep trouble if we used doctors penmanship to decided if we wanted to see them or not.

For some, who study behavioral science matter to them. It's really hard to say, does is really defines your personality but somehow it is, probably a small percentage but not totally. ???

I know they say you can define someone by his/her penmanship but, I'm not sure about that. I have known people who write very nice who are sweet as can be and I have met people that write nice and are the biggest jerks you could ever meet. Likewise with ones that write sloppy. You define a persons personality by their actions and what is inside their heart is what I believe.
