Credit card applications
« on: January 27, 2011, 10:17:35 am »
The economy must be changing.  Yesterday I got applications from three different companies for credit cards.  It has been a while since I have seen them.

Is anybody else getting lots of them in the mail?

It's so funny you posted this. I was honestly wondering what was up with that. We've suddenly gotten a TON of credit card applications in the mail. We don't like credit cards so we just shred them, but there's something I was wondering..

I remember that website from the FTC where you could remove yourself from mailings. I went googling for it after I saw your post and found this:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt063.shtm

Now, it says on there that it's supposed to be good for 5 years, so I'm not sure if that's the same one. In any event I'm going to read over it later, because those things really bother me. I'm always afraid of them getting delivered to the wrong apartment, and identity theft. I'm probably worrying for nothing but still, I don't like getting them.

I havent been getting credit card offers althou my boyfriend has.

I have been getting those catalogs that have pre-approved you to have something like a layaway plan yet they deliever the goods before they are paid in full. I tried 2 of them and they both came back saying that even thou they preapproved me they cant do business with me unless i want to pay the balance in full.
