Vegetarin/Pescetarian Recipes?
« on: February 01, 2011, 07:30:11 pm »
So I have been a vegetarian for about two years. A friend of mine is pescetarian and I was wondering if anyone has some recipes they would like to share? I don't have any good recipes, I usually just throw some stuff together for meals, but I never make recipes or follow recipes when I cook. Anybody have any recipes to contribute? People can try them out and give feedback. :D

what is pescetarian?
What type of vegetarian things do you like?  Mainly what sources of protein?
I LOVE tofu.  I also like all kinds of beans!  :)  I could be a good vegetarian; however, i am not..... still like meats ocassionally.

I'm not sure what pescatarian is but you can probably find out with a google search. If you want some really SUPER and delicious mayo substitute, try Vegenaise. Just google it ...it is really delicious. You may just give up regular mayo! Good luck!

my fiance's father is vegetarian and he loves
eggplant (shew lord, i can't handle it) but have you
ever tried it? i swear, some of the things that he
eats looks like he went out back, grabbed a handful
of weeds, and soaked 'em in the sink for an hour  :dontknow:

have you ever noticed how expensive it is to
eat healthy? i wander through the grocery store
amazed sometimes, just at the difference in prices
when comparing special health foods to regular stuff!

even if i could afford it, i don't think i'd shop at "whole foods"
based on principle alone, lol.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I love mayo. I dont think i want to substitute it.

You have to be able to tolerate grains in order to be a vegetarian. Also you need to be sure your taking vit b 12.

some people are successful. I have gone vegetarian a few times in my life with good results in weight loss.

good luck  :D

I have never heard of vegenaise but I just googled it..lol.. I at times go vegetarian because I love to eat healthy and how great I feel physically when I do.  But I will definitely go out and try this mayonaise substitute and may just stick with it if I like the taste.  :)

Pescetarianism is the practice of a diet that includes seafood, and excludes other animals. In addition to fish and/or shellfish, a pescetarian diet typically includes some or all of vegetables, fruit, nuts, grains, beans, eggs and dairy

i just looked it up on wikipedia.
