Do you watch the program? I have watched it from the beginning.  I just watched the last episode of the year last night (I TIVO everything).  Right before I watched it, I read an article in the newspaper saying that he (Michael C. Hall) and Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister have filed for divorce after two years of marriage.  I had no idea they were married in real life.  I wonder if there were a few incidents about the marriage breakup in the show.  Near the end, Dexter was listening to his sister, Deb, talk, and she said something about how you can know somebody for a long time and find out that you don't know them at all.     Then, at the very end, Dexter took off his wedding ring.  It fit perfectly in with the show contents, but both incidents just seems to fit into his/their real life too.  There are rumors that Dexter's "roommate" was his new love interest and had something to do with his divorce, but she denies it.
