Interesting article about glowing, nanoparticle-infused trees

    I was recently browsing a site which shows what news articles are really popular right now, and came across a very intriguing topic where Taiwanese reaserchers have thought up the idea of replacing street lights with trees!
Cool, huh?
Apparently, these researchers think, that by injecting leaves with golden nanoparticles, this will cause the leaves to give off a pretty, red glow that will light various roads around the world. And with the need of no electricity whatsoever!
That would not only be a good way of reducing carbon emissions, it also would probably bring down electricity costs a lot!
So what is everyones' thoughts about this cost-saving idea? I think it would be totally awesome if this happens

That does sound amazing but I wonder what loggers would see in this practice?  With the ever expanding highways and byways of America (and the world), how would this affect our communities and their trees?  Would the cost go up for such a tree to be planted then injected?  What about disease growth and cost to maintain the glow?

Just asking.
