Any ideas for inside activities for children
« on: October 22, 2010, 11:27:18 am »
So, I'm tutoring elementary students with this foundation, but after they are done with there homework I usually play outside with them.  The only problem now is that it's getting cold (if there was snow it'd be much easier) and I'm not really good at thinking up activities for them to do when we're cooped up inside.  Any ideas?

Maybe they will enjoy playing board games, like candy land.

Puzzles, arts and crafts.  Give them paper a have them make up their own board games.

How about teaching kids some fun arts and craft hobby like origami? :) You can always head to the library to borrow some origami books and pick out the ones you like to fold. Or maybe you can borrow some good documentary videos to educate their young minds on learning new things. How old are these children?

My kids love to be read to.  And you could do the old classics: mother may I, hang-man, red light green light, or sit them in a circle and start a story off with one sentence and have each kid contribute.  Also, Mad Libs is fun.  As long as the kids are mature enough to be kosher about it. lol

We have a lot of space and these kids are aged from about 6-15.  Thanks for all your suggestions and I totally forgot about red light green light.  Thanks for all your suggestions!

Well badminton if there is room is always good. But you can let them make pinatas fill them and later destroy them lol.
